The problem
Inbox zero is a losing game when most of what arrives never needed your attention. The usual fixes either send your mail through someone else’s servers or bury you in rules you have to maintain by hand.
How it works
Premail connects to your existing email and triages incoming messages on your own device. The noise is removed silently; the rest lands in your inbox the way it always did.

Privacy by default
Premail is built so your email stays yours. There is no account to create, and no servers of ours sit between you and your messages. Filtering happens locally.
What a filtered week feels like
The first thing you notice is not a feature. It is that the twelve recruiter emails you would have skimmed and deleted never showed up, and you cannot tell me which twelve they were, because you never saw them. The inbox is just shorter.
I also stopped opening my inbox on a reflex. Premail sends me a few scheduled briefings a day instead, each one a summary and a short list of things that actually need a reply. Email went from an interrupt to something I sit down to do.
What Premail will not do
It will not route your mail through our servers, because we do not run any in that path. Classification happens on your machine. That constraint cost real engineering effort and rules out some things a cloud service could do more easily, and it is the entire reason the product deserves to exist.
It will not replace your mail client. You keep Mail, or Outlook, or whatever you use, with the accounts you already have. Premail works upstream of it; there is no new inbox to learn and nothing to migrate.
It will not ask you to write rules. A filter you have to hand-maintain forever is a chore disguised as a feature.
What it costs
Premail is free to use on a single account, which is enough to find out whether the filtering is any good on your actual mail rather than on a demo. Pro is nine dollars a month and lifts the limits. There is also a ninety-nine dollar lifetime license, which is roughly eleven months of Pro.
The lifetime option exists because I am asking people to trust a privacy-first product, and a subscription that can be repriced later is a strange way to ask for that trust. Paying once and owning it is the more honest offer, so I made it.
